Ballet Dancer Reaches Grade 8

Ballet Dancer Reaches Grade 8

Upper 5 student, Sophie Mercer writes of her recent achievement:

"I have just achieved a high Distinction from the Royal Academy of Dance at Grade 8 Level. This involved dedicated practice of at least 2 hours a week, plus practice dance sessions with my RAD ballet teacher Mrs. Michele Rose. Grade 8 level ballet requires a mature personal sense of style and confidence in performance; as well as being able to perform complex movement sequences showing fluidity, musicality and technique in ballet. Therefore ballet dances usually take this exam when they are a lot older which is why it was a great achievement that I achieved this grade when I was 15 years old."
