British Biology Olympiad 2017

British Biology Olympiad 2017

Ten Moreton girls have achieved awards or medals in this year’s Biology Olympiad. The challenging two hour paper on biological topics is set by the Society of Biology and is open to students across the UK. This year 7500 students took part.

The aim of the competition is to challenge and stimulate students with an interest in Biology to expand and extend their talents. It is hoped that competing in the Olympiad will encourage students already interested in this valuable, wide-ranging and rewarding subject to continue their study beyond A-level.

“The Olympiad tests a very broad biological interest and knowledge and it is very exciting to know that we have such capable group of biologists here at Moreton,” said Head of Biology, Hannah Peel.

“For so many of our Upper Sixth girls to win awards in this challenging competition, is an excellent achievement. It is also hugely impressive that two Lower 6 girls achieved high awards this year.”
