European Day of Languages

European Day of Languages

Moreton First celebrated the European Day of Languages on Friday 20th September. Pupils dressed up in clothes from European countries and engaged in ‘Europe’ themed lessons and activities throughout the day. Children from different year groups baked Italian pizza, learned about the famous Spanish tomato fight ‘La Tomatina’, tasted traditional German foods, decorated napkins as European flags, made Spanish fans and learned Spanish dancing. Year 6 students gave an assembly about the places where French, German and Italian are spoken, and demonstrated their French skills by performing ‘Le Petit Chaperon Rouge’ (Little Red Riding Hood).
