Launching an innovative ‘triangular’ project between Moreton, state schools and Universities, Keele University and Moreton ran the first ‘Aspiration Day’ this week for would-be medics. The day included keen Year 9 and 10 (Lower and Upper 4) scientists from Moreton and local secondary school, St. Martins.
Gordon Dent, Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology from Keele University Medical School explained: “We have worked with the Moreton Science staff to create practical experiments in the fitness suite which demonstrate how the cardio vascular system is influenced by exercise. We also ran a workshop to help the students understand the variety of careers available to medics and what being a medical student involves.”
A second ‘Aspiration Day’ will be held in June.
