The U11 Moreton First Hockey team travelled to Repton School on 14th October to take part in their very first IAPS prep school event. This is a large national event, incorporating multiple schools from across the UK and Moreton First were invited to take part.
The day was an excellent experience for our U11 Hockey Team. The competition was of a high level as 24 prep schools from all over the UK took part. Despite the tough competition, our U11 Hockey Team certainly held their own, as they played extremely well and gave their all to every match which was a delight to see. The girls’ determination demonstrated that they were incredibly excited to be playing in such a prestigious tournament. Special congratulations must go to the players who demonstrated fantastic sporting skill and teamwork abilities.
The competition was indeed very tough, and the girls were so pleased to achieve a solid win against Leicestershire Grammar, 2-0. We also played excellently against The Elms, holding our own in a difficult match and achieving a 2-2 draw. The matches were very closely fought, most significantly our game with Spratton Hall which we lost 2-1 (but only nail-bitingly so in the last minute!)
The girls had a wonderful time and some fantastic Hockey was played. They relished the opportunity to play schools from all over the UK, not just local schools, and to take part in such an established tournament.
