Moreton Team Qualify for Rotary Youth Speaks Regional Finals

The Moreton Hall intermediate team have qualified for the Regional Finals of the national Rotary 'Youth Speaks' competition to be held on 3rd March 2017 at Glyndwr University. Cordelia (U4), Charlotte (U4) and Emma (U4) spoke eloquently on the topic of ‘Today’s Technology’ and impressed the judging panel, securing first place.

In the senior competition, two Moreton teams competed with the topics ‘Antibiotic Resistance’ and ‘How Lucky We Are To Be Alive Now’. This was a closely fought category as the judges deliberated for 50 minutes to decide their chosen winner. In the end the two Senior Moreton teams places 2nd and 3rd, an excellent result.

Emily (U5), Eliza (U5) and Romy (U5) placed second as Moreton Hall team one and Jasmine (L6), Georgina (L6) and Lucy (U5) placed third as Moreton Hall team two.

The junior team will now proceed to the second round of the competition with their talk on “The Mobile Phone Generation.” We hope the juniors will make it through to the national competition and our senior teams will be competing in the English Speaking Union.
