Moreton U15 Cricket Team Crowned Midland Champions!

Moreton Hall’s U15 Cricket Team were crowned champions at the Lady Taverners Indoor Regional Cricket Finals at Fenton Manor, Stoke this week. They won all six games with confidence and style and now progress as Midlands Champions to the National Finals held at Lords.

For their first game, the team beat Hereford Cathedral School by 8 wickets scoring 121/2 in response to Hereford’s 52 all out. With five more games to go, they were fuelled with adrenaline and ready for the challenge. Green Hall were next, and Moreton played with determination, sealing another win by 5 wickets. Then a tense game followed against Didcot Girls’ School. It was a close fought battle, but Milly’s captaincy was outstanding, particularly her setting of the field, and she led them to another deserved win.

With two further wins against Blythe Bridge and Charles Whitehead School, Moreton had everything to play for in the final game. It was a fantastic game against Redhill School to end a brilliant display of cricket by Moreton’s U15 Team. Our batters, Milly, Ellie and Lottie, were superb throughout the tournament. Bowlers were equally as good with Freya, Talullah and Molly picking up the majority of the wickets. Milly captained extremely well and her wicket keeping was sharp and clever.
