Moreton’s Lacrosse Players Selected to Represent Wales

Hattie, Georgie and Lily undertook rigorous trials to make the cut for the Welsh Under 20s team. They now follow an intense training schedule to prepare for the European Championships due to be held in Poland this summer.

Our squad weekend in January was an opportunity for players to show the skills and match play to the coaches in the hope to impress them for selections. Over the weekend we did lots of drills, stick work and match play where we had the opportunity to trial the new 10 a-side game. The coaches were mainly selecting for the U20 European Championships which will be held in Poland this Summer. At the end of the weekend we were delighted to hear that Georgie, Lily and myself were all selected for the team to travel to Poland, with the added congratulations to Lily who was named Vice-Captain.

We are all very excited about this opportunity and hope to do both our school and country proud. We still have another 18 months of intense training before the World Cup but we will all continue to work hard, do our best and aim to make the squad that travels to Canada in 2019.
