Sarah Parkes Competition

Sarah Parkes Competition

Reading from The Book of Common Prayer, over 30 Moretonians took to the podium in the annual Sarah Parkes Competition. The competition, created by Dr Giles Parkes in memory of his late daughter Sarah, was once again judged by Colonel Hewitt and - for the first time - Sarah's sister Celia Jenkins.

This year's Junior winner was Helen Norman (U4) with runner up Antonia Nicholls (U4). Senior winner was Mary Richardson (U5), with runner up Natalya Kahn (U6).

Head of Spoken English, Merriel Halsall Williams commented: "The quality of the speakers was excellent, there were entries from all year groups in school."
