Twelve enthusiastic sportswomen from Moreton Hall represented Shropshire and dominated the podium at the North County Tournament on Sunday 19th March. The U13 A and B Shropshire squads journeyed to Brooklands Lacrosse Club to take part in this challenging, exciting tournament.
There were teams from Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cheshire and Shropshire taking part in an A and B team competition. Moreton dominated the U13 Shropshire A and B teams, with six players in the A team and six players in the B team. This is a tremendous achievement and it certainly highlights the strength and breadth of lacrosse at Moreton Hall.
The Shropshire A team dominated in their first match against Yorkshire with a final score of 21-0 to Shropshire. Their next match against Lancashire was much closer. The team fought hard to get back into the game having fallen behind 7-3 and in a very exciting finale just missed out by 7 goals to 6. They won the final match against Cheshire 6-3 and so finished 2nd overall.
The B team had a successful day, winning both of their matches and finishing as B team champions. They beat Lancashire 8-2 and Cheshire 6-2. An excellent result!
