Parents’ Intensive English Course
This course consists of 15 hours tuition per week. Parents are taught in groups of under 10 students every weekday morning.
In the afternoons and at weekends parents are offered a wide range of excursions and activities. Activities offered at school include the use of the swimming pool, Fitness Suite and Sports Hall.
Evening activities include lectures delivered by eminent academics, canal walks, local pubs, cookery classes and cocktail parties.
Excursions include a weekly trip to the local spa, the North Wales coast and castles, historic cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, Chester and Shrewsbury which offer both cultural and shopping experiences.
5-10 Year Olds
Children attend Moreton Hall’s Junior English courses every weekday morning where they spend two hours doing English lessons with a qualified primary/EFL teacher, in classes of up to 12 children.
In the afternoon parents have the option of taking their children on excursions with them or children can spend the afternoon in the Holiday Club where a wider range of activities is organised.
This is an excellent opportunity for children to make friends with local British children and to learn English in a friendly, informal environment.
In the evenings children are fully supervised during activities such as dance, drama, film nights, or child games so parents can enjoy their own activities, safe in the knowledge that their children are being cared for.
10-13 Year Olds
Children are taught in groups of up to 12 pupils according to ability. They are all tested upon arrival. There is three hours of tuition every day from 9am to 12pm. Lessons are taught in a fun way, while still focusing on developing the four skills or reading, writing, listening and speaking. The lessons are interactive and video and film clips used to make the lessons less formal and more stimulating.
A variety of activities are on offer every day for the children and a wide range of outings or both children and parents, and unaccompanied children.
In the evenings children are kept fully occupied with a weekly disco, film nights, bowling and cinema trips and fun games.
Children on this course will be taught side by side with children from the English Plus Activities course (see below).
