Tutor System

Academic and pastoral monitoring is central to life at Moreton. Every pupil is assigned to a tutor on a house basis who meets with them at least twice a week, individually and in small groups to monitor progress and set targets  to ensure that she is making the most of the opportunities on offer. Tutors liaise directly on a daily basis with house parents, who in turn share information with the Head of Department, Director of Studies, Head of Senior School, Vice Principal and Principal in regular formal and informal meetings.

The 2006 ISI Inspection report wrote that “the tutorial system ensures that every pupil is very well known to the staff and each feels secure and cared for. The pupils know support is always there when it is needed. The tutorial system is a key element in fulfilling the school’s aim for each pupil to achieve the highest standards in academic work, and in the plethora of activities available”.
