The Vanguard Examinations assess students on their abilities in a variety of spoken English skills including reciting prepared works, sight reading and discussion. In a one to one forum, the students also have to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge of voice projection and breathing techniques. Seventy five percent of this year's cohort of 24 entrants from Remove achieved a higher distinction or distinction.
"These outstanding results reflect the enthusiasm the girls have shown for developing their confidence in oral presentation," comments Merriel Halsall-Williams, Head of Spoken English.
Gwyn Snow (L5) also achieved a Higher Distinction in her Intermediate Grade 3 Vanguard exam.
