Victorious Weekend Away at Stowe

Six Moreton Hall teams travelled to Stowe for the first Lacrosse fixture of the Spring Term. Despite the cold wintry day, some excellent sporting skill was demonstrated from both sides and five out of six Moreton teams returned victorious in this difficult away fixture.

In the first round of matches, our 3rd, U14 and U15 teams played the home side and all three Moreton Teams achieved comfortable wins:

3rd won 8-2
U14s won 15-2
U15s won 16-1
In the second round, the Moreton 1st, 2nd and U15b teams stepped up to the plate. Our 1st team were matched against Stowe’s 1st side. The host school has had a very strong season so far, therefore the Moreton team knew this would be a tough opponent. They held the opposition in the first half, but unfortunately couldn’t convert their possession into goals in the second half. The final score was 13-8 to Stowe.
The Moreton 2nd team were equally matched with Stowe’s 2nd Team who were strong on the attack. However, Stowe lacked enough discipline in defence to keep the Moreton side out and due to the Moreton 2nd having strength in all areas of the pitch they controlled the state of play.  The final score was 8-2 to Moreton.
A mixture of U14B and U15B’s made up the final team, working excellently in a team and winning their match 10-1. Overall some excellent games of Lacrosse were played, and despite this difficult away fixture the Moreton Teams exhibited fantastic teamwork and sporting skill which is clearly reflected in their fantastic results.
