A group of nine L6 girls took part in the heats of the Young Business Brains competition hosted by Glyndwr University last week.
On arrival we were split into three streams with one Moreton team (of 3 girls) in each stream. We were all given a ‘brief’ based on a new National Trust initiative to get children out into the great outdoors. Our first task was to do an elevator pitch to two different judges, for which we were awarded tokens by each judge. The second round consisted of speaking to experts (at a cost of one token per expert) and refining our final pitch. The final challenge was to present a 15 minute pitch to a panel of judges, it was at this stage that Moreton's Spoken English skills truly shone, it was really interesting to see the huge variety of ideas that teams had come up with.
Two of the three Moreton teams won their streams and the third team were runners up. We will now be competing in the National Final next term.
