Dance Showcase

Dance Showcase

Parent, Gill Leigh-Ford, writes: The second ever Dance Showcase was performed by the Moreton Dance Team on Wednesday 2nd May hosted by Head of P E Kate Groves and Dance Teacher Sophie Gallie. Dance has only recently been included in the extracurricular programme and is proving extremely popular with the Moreton girls - hardly surprising as its various forms feature so heavily in current media/film/tv.

The talent displayed - as always at Moreton - was exceptional. The dance was varied, including contemporary-lyrical style ballet, modern, Street/Hip Hop, an interesting Burlesque routine, a vaudeville style Musical Theatre and even some traditional Irish dancing.

The girls, all coached by Hammond School trained Sophie Gallie, are also encouraged to choreograph and introduce their preferred types of dance. The result was a hugely varied Showcase which kept the audience completely immersed in a wonderfully entertaining evening. Congratulations to every single one of the participants who put in an enormous amount of effort and hard work, especially Dance Captain Stefanie Leigh-Ford, Sophie Gallie and Kate Groves without whose valuable input, this fantastic evening would not have happened. We look forward to many more Dance Spectaculars!
