First Steps Nursery offers a safe, caring, stimulating environment for young children within the grounds of Moreton Hall in a newly built, purpose-designed facility.  We can accommodate up to 48 children in term time and school holidays.

First Steps aims to work with parents to ensure that the first experience in every child’s education is a positive, happy one; where he or she feels comfortable to explore and develop in a nurturing environment.

Within an atmosphere of mutual respect and encouragement, we endeavour to develop self-discipline and self-esteem in children, preparing them for the next step in their lives. Our focus is on making learning enjoyable from a very early age.

Our key staff are all highly qualified, with many years of child care and early years teaching experience. All of our staff are very carefully selected and vetted for their qualifications, suitability, experience and attitude.

During the day we offer a wide range of structured and non-structured activities to suit the needs of each individual child. An informal programme is carefully developed to guarantee that each day contains variety and stimulation. Activities include personal and social development, language and literacy, maths, understanding of the world, physical development, creative development, dance, music and sport. To further enhance the opportunities available to our Nursery and Transition children we offer:

Gym minis
Ballet
Sing and sign
Forest School
Languages including French and Welsh starting September 2009
Yoga - starting September 2009
Drama - starting September 2009

Safety measures include the use of suitable and EU safety approved equipment, ongoing Risk Assessments and an approved level of staff to child ratio. Access to First Steps can only be gained through the front door which has a security system in place to ensure that only staff can let people in.

First Steps has a high level of qualified First Aiders amongst its team, but for extra peace of mind we have the added benefit of an on site Health Centre which is kitted out with all the latest equipment and a fully qualified team of medical workers.
