Moreton Hall International Study Centre was established in 2005 and today takes up to 50 overseas students, both girls and boys.  The ISC runs throughout the year, including the summer holidays and is housed in a newly built, dedicated building with accommodation, classrooms and common rooms.

A Brief Overview of Courses:

Pre-A Level / IB Preparation Course

This course is designed to prepare students for entry into UK boarding schools to study A Level/IB. Students study between one and four terms, depending on their level of English at entry.

The course consists of intensive general English lessons and subject specific lessons in the subjects students wish to take for A level / IB, predominantly Maths, Science and Economics/Business Studies. Students have approximately 30 hours of lessons per week, including 20 hours of English. Not only is the course designed to broaden the students subject knowledge and language skills but also prepares them for boarding school life and teaches them the necessary skills to integrate into the British classroom. Students are encouraged to take advantage of an exciting and stimulating sport and activity programme and trips are organised on many weekends.

Pre-GCSE Preparation Course (New)

Students can enrol on this course for between one and three terms before they embark on their two-year GCSE programme in Year 10 either at Moreton Hall or at another school. Students have intensive English lessons in the International Study Centre with other overseas students and are taught core GCSE subjects in the main school. This has the added benefit of being ready to start GCSEs in September without the distraction of settling into a new environment and understanding an unfamiliar language.

International Summer School at ISC

From July to August students enrol on an intensive eight week language course (see above), designed to prepare them for entry to British boarding schools at GCSE Level or A Level/IB Level. Students have six hours of lessons daily with a focus on English, Maths, Science and Economics/Business Studies. A wide range of extra-curricular activities is designed to complement the more formal academic study. Cultural trips and excursions are organised at weekends. The feedback from schools, which have taken Moreton Hall's International Study Centre students is excellent as they report that students arrive fully-integrated into school life and ready for study.

English and Sport/ Activities
Summer Course
Ages 12-17

During the summer holidays we run a two-week English and Golf course and coaching in many other sports is offered including basketball, swimming, tennis, football, horse-riding. The duration and course content/activities can be adapted to meet the needs of the students. Generally, students have four hours of EFL English lessons every morning, with the emphasis on language learning in a ‘fun' environment. The course is designed to improve the general spoken and written English of the students and is taught in small groups of approximately ten students. Lessons are followed by lunch then golf or other sport/activity lessons/sessions. In the evening there is a wide range of supplementary activities on offer and at the weekends students are taken on recreational and cultural trips.

English and Activities for 4-11 Year Olds and Parent(s)

A great summer break for parents and children who wish to improve/learn English, whilst having an active holiday.
4-11 Year olds attend morning English courses with an emphasis on learning through fun activities. Meanwhile the accompanying parent(s) attend adult English courses. After lunch children join the Moreton Hall Holiday Club for activities and trips. Adults have their own activities planned which can include art, history of art, dance, talks, sport, horse-riding, golf, sailing. They also join the children on the trips.

Parents are accommodated with their children either at the school or in host families, depending upon requirements. Activities and entertainment are organised in the evenings.
