Moreton Shines in a Variety of Sports

Moreton girls excel in many different sports; the start of term has been busy with news of some of these successes.

Ellie Placed Fifth amongst UK Triathletes  
On Saturday 8th September Ellie Russell (L4 / Year 8) competed in the National Triathlon Championships in Sunderland. She competed in the U12 category (as only 1 of 2 West Midlands competitors) against athletes from the other 11 regions of England, Scotland and Wales. She performed outstandingly, being placed 5th overall. 

Bridget qualifies for National Indoor Dressage
Equestrian, Bridget Tate (L5 / Year 10), was placed 2nd overall in the Pet Plan Area Dressage Festival at Kingswood riding her pony Flame. This outstanding performance means that she now qualifies for the National Indoor Championships which will be held in Hartpury in April of next year. 
 
Moreton Girl Selected for National Lacrosse Squad 
Ellie Jones (L6 / Year 12) is currently part of the Welsh U19 squad and has recently been selected to train with the senior Welsh training squad in preparation for the World Cup 2013. Ellie is a member of the Moreton Hall 1st team which performed extremely well this weekend at the Welsh Rally.

Top Hockey Player Trains with Midlands Hockey Team
After the county hockey championships in May, Tira Brown (U5 / Year 11) was selected to be part of the Midlands Regional Tier 1 Hockey Training Squad. Tira attended several training sessions over the summer holidays and will be attending the Midlands Hockey Team trials later this month. 
Tira is currently a member of the 1st Hockey team at Moreton Hall which won their opening match against Shrewsbury School on Wednesday.
