"Forty five Year 7 children from Moreton Hall and prep schools Terra Nova, Abberley and Packwood attended the recent Moreton Art Workshop resulting in one very messy art studio and some sensational pieces of art," writes Head of Art, Jan Miller.
"The art department is currently surrounded by large woman-themed drawings, paintings and models for Moreton's Centenary Art Competition and so provided the visitors with lots of inspiration.
They began by making large tonal observation drawings of some glamorous high heeled shoes. They were then shown artist, Zhang Aicun's painting of cosmetics that was shortlisted for John Moore's Art Prize as well as working from photographs of jewellery and cosmetics. They enjoyed the freedom of mixing and layering media on large boards, selecting from a candy store of materials from black glitter sand and tin foil to hologram paper and fluorescent wool and created some stunning effects by the end of the day."
