Moreton Connect is an initiative launched in our Centenary year to develop a network of contacts amongst parents and Old Moretonians that Moreton girls can access for career advice and other work related opportunities.
The aim is to build up a bank of businesses, in as wide a variety of sectors as possible, that will help give our current students and recent leavers the best opportunities to access quality work experience placements, internships and work shadowing experiences, as well as giving them the opportunity to listen to talks about career paths in a variety of sectors.
Moreton Connect is being led by Catherine Ashworth who you may already know from her involvement in Moreton Enterprises, as Head of the Business department and now as Head of Careers. She is aiming to bridge the gap between Enterprise, Business and Careers.
Business sectors of particular interest to girls are:
- Banking, Finance and Economics
- Business Management and Consultancy
- Creative Arts
- Engineering and Science
- Events Management
- Marketing & PR
- Media and Journalism
- Medicine and Veterinary
- Property Management
There are many ways parents and Old Moretonians can share their professional expertise and get involved with Moreton Connect.
- Work experience placement (1-2 weeks during school holidays)
- Mentoring (one to one career advice via email or telephone)
- An internship opportunity for Moreton leavers taking a gap year or recent OM graduates
- Job vacancies that may be of interest to OMs
