Lacrosse players from across the country travelled to Moreton Hall to take part in the inaugural Lacrosse Invitational Tournament held last weekend.
Over 20 schools, clubs and colleges took part in the ‘non-competitive’ event, which aimed to provide students and coaches with an opportunity to develop their teams and test out new squads for the forthcoming season. Event Organiser and Moreton Hall Lacrosse Coach, Jenny Sanderson commented: “Matches were planned so that everyone would experience playing teams that would not necessarily be their regular competition with the aim of the day being to learn skills, practice new techniques and most importantly, have fun!”
Both Moreton Hall’s U15 and U18 squads finished the day unbeaten, enjoying the thrill of playing on their home pitches at such a busy tournament.
It is certainly evident Lacrosse has been part of the fabric of Moreton Hall since 1913 and still reigns supreme today, alongside many other sports. The feedback from players, coaches and spectators for this Lacrosse Invitational was extremely positive, so much so that the date is already in the diary for next year!
Moreton Hall’s Director of Sport, Alison McDonald, commented: “It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves at Moreton - whether they were playing, supporting, umpiring or coaching.”
