The Main School Library is situated in a purpose built building.  It is light and airy and holds a comprehensive selection of approximately 18000 books, both fiction and reference, plus a good selection of daily newspapers and periodicals. The borrowing system is computerised and also allows the students to search the OPAC to locate books in the Library.

It is open daily until 10.00pm and the qualified librarians are on hand during the working day to give assistance with research, using both traditional and more modern methods.  There are two work stations situated within the library and the building is networked allowing the students to use their tablets and laptops for research and preparation.

There is an area with comfy seating to encourage private reading and the students and staff are appreciative of the calm atmosphere in the Library which lends itself to reading and quiet study time.

Moreton First has its own, newly designed, Library situated within the Moreton First building which uses the same system as the Main Library. Year 6 are encouraged  to visit the Main Library during their lunch breaks which helps them to familiarise themselves with the resources and the staff ready for their move up the School to Stables.

The library is both welcoming and very modern. One girl talked about working in the library before her GCSEs and being able to take her kettle, mug and biscuits in there for a real go at her revision – good for the librarian!
