Moreton First children wanted to design a permanent piece of art to celebrate the school's Centenary; something to include the work of children in the school that would last for another 100 years. They decided on a stained glass window and commissioned local artist, Tracy Whyte from Treflach in Oswestry to create it using their own art. The artist has used traditional lead stained glass methods, with a mix of antique and new glass.
Head of Moreton First, Catherine Ford explains: "The children have cleverly funded the project with proceeds from various art competitions they have won over the past year. Pupils wanted to use their prize money to fund a piece of local art, but they wanted to design it themselves. A drawing competition was held within the school with a subject title 'Moreton pupils working and playing'. Drawings by Charlie Miller, Sophie Bunce, Grace Thompson and Oliver Miller were chosen by the Artist."
