On May 11th this term, we were visited by an assessor from Eco Schools to inspect Moreton Hall and make the decision whether or not our Green Flag status should be renewed. The flag needs to be renewed every two years, and a lot of work has to be put in before we can be re-awarded it for the next two.
Over the course of the year Eco Team have been carrying out audits, looking into how much energy we use, the biodiversity, the water usage and much more. We also have to make sure that we have improved on several things from the last assessment. This year, our assessor was especially impressed by Sebastopol, our recycling pig, and the amount of time Moreton girls spend outside, whether for games or just revising in the Walled Garden when it’s sunny!
So, we can proudly announce that we’ve done it! Moreton remains a Green Flag School for the next two years, so keep up the good work everyone!
