For talented sportswomen Milly (U5), gaining a place in the U19 England Lacrosse Team was, in her words, ‘a childhood dream; achieved’. Alongside specialist England training sessions, Milly recently put her top level skills into practice as she relished the opportunity to play for the U19 North Regional Team in the Senior Regional Tournament at St Swithuns on 25th and 26th March. Moreton sports coach, Holly Harrington also part of the England squad, represented the North A Regional Team in the same tournament.
The sun was shining and spirits were high, as both Holly and Milly excelled in their respective teams; an excellent demonstration of top class sport was on display. The North U19 Team played extremely well and even beat the notoriously difficult to beat, South West A Team 8-7.
The North A team beat difficult opponents the South West A Team, 13-7. However, they narrowly missed out on the trophy after a very close game against the South East A team resulting in a loss.
Holly commented: “It was a really great weekend of Lacrosse, the level was extremely high and it was really good to get out and play against tough competition. The U19s, and Milly especially, played exceptionally well against the senior teams.”
