For the first time ever, our show jumping team (Tamsin, Fenella, Tibby and Tillie) have qualified for The Royal Windsor Horse Show; this is the UK's largest outdoor horse show with international competitions in three different equestrian disciplines.
To earn their place, the girls jumped four double-clears, to finish on a team score of zero. They then took the win in the 90cm intermediate class at South View EC. And, Tillie, with an exceptionally fast time was also placed, individual second.
The girls and their ponies rode well over an up-to-height, single phase course. Tamsin, riding Spike, was the first to go for the team and the first to leave all the poles up in the class.
So, Fenella riding Carlos, not to be outdone by her younger sister, also rode a stylish round, for another clear.
The pressure was now on. Team orders were to ride for a 'safe' double clear - no cutting corners or 'handbrake turns'.
Tibby and Rupert, probably the smallest combination in the competition, did not disappoint and left all the poles up. We, had three out of four riders clear and the team score in-the-bag, which meant Tillie and her pony, Beauty, could 'go for it'.
A super fast round followed with some time saving turns and a cut through the jumps to the last and another double clear. Fantastic rounds from all the girls and their ponies.
The girls are all very excited to be going down to Windsor on the 11th May, to be jumping in the Queen's garden!
