North Shropshire Music Sees Record Numbers

North Shropshire Music Training Orchestra witnessed a record number of musicians attending their weekly rehearsals ahead of their season’s festive performances.

Moreton Hall, home of North Shropshire Music is a centre of Music Excellence in the region and serves students not only in the Oswestry area, but over the Welsh border into the county of Wrexham, North Wales.  It is run by music specialists from Moreton Hall's Music Department.

North Shropshire Music is in proud partnership with the Shropshire Music Education Hub who recognise this initiative as ‘leading the way’. The North Shropshire Training Orchestra was the first ensemble to be formed for musicians within the local community nine years ago and highlights Moreton Hall's longstanding commitment to music-making in the local community.

Alison Stevens, Manager of the Shropshire Music Service says, "We are proud to have such a positive working partnership with such a forward thinking Independent school."

North Shropshire Music now has four different musical ensembles offering opportunities for a range of abilities and disciplines: North Shropshire Schools Orchestra, NS Woodwind Ensemble & NS String Ensemble.  It also boasts of a hugely successful and dynamic choral programme for Primary Schools.

With the opening of the new Holroyd Community Theatre, situated in the grounds of Moreton Hall, North Shropshire Music is one of three outstanding Holroyd Community Theatre initiatives which were specifically designed to ignite interest in the arts for our young people. North Shropshire Music Training Orchestra will be performing at the forthcoming ‘Christmas at the Holroyd’ concert and Christmas Cheer at Moreton Hall.
