Harriet Bower Turner (OM) gave a careers Masterclass to girls in U5, L6 and U6 this week, on how to build a successful career. After leaving school in 2007 Harriet became a Management Assistant with Balfour Beatty where she has progressed to a successful career with the company, managing a wide range of projects including building a local community centre and a school in Blackburn. More recently she has been working in the power sector with multi-million pound projects.
She gave valuable advice to the girls on how to forge a successful career, stressing the importance of work experience and placements, the use of LinkedIn and networking as well as the wide range of opportunities offered through apprenticeships. One of the current L6 girls, Lucy Smith, had a valuable work experience placement with Harriet in the summer holidays. If any OMs or Moreton parents would like to offer similar placements to Moretonians, please contact Catherine Ashworth, the school's Business Liaison Coordinator, on firstname.lastname@example.org who would love to hear from you.
