The Lower 5 trip to Salamanca was brilliant. We had plenty of opportunities not only to visit the main cultural attractions of Salamanca including the University, the Cathedrals (new and old) and the Plaza but also to practise our Spanish during our five day intensive Spanish course.
We also visited several mountain villages in the Sierra de Francia which were really beautiful and very traditional. The food was amazing - a three course meal in a different restaurant every day was great, we had the chance to try so many different foods such as paella and turrón. What is more, we were able to order in restaurants using our Spanish - this helped again to give us the confidence we need, as did conversing with our host families in the evenings.
The intensive morning lessons at Don Quijote really gave us the confidence to understand what was being said, and how to reply. We all felt that our Spanish improved greatly throughout the week and we are keen to continue speaking Spanish now that we are back at school.
