What a day! It started with 10 of the touring group going whale watching! It was quite windy out to sea but they had a great trip and saw the oldest whale in the world who is 104 years old. The rest of the group spent some time in Victoria centre followed by a couple of hours at the beach. We all met up at lunchtime and then headed out to the University of Victoria to play our Hockey games against Victoria Select A and B. The girls were very tired today after playing two Lacrosse matches and the heat was intense!
However, the B Team played a brilliant match and went 1-0 up shortly after half time. They kept the lead for most the game and around 5 minutes before the end a goal was scored against them so the game ended 1-1. The A team played against many British Columbia players so their work was cut out. By half time the team were 3-0 down and could have given up. But in true Moreton style they came out fighting in the second half and scored two goals in 5 minutes! The game stayed at this score line for a long time but the heat got the better of many of the players and the Victoria scored twice at the end of the game. They lost 5-2 but they played exceptionally well especially in the second half which ended 2-2!
Tomorrow we head to Seattle which will take most of the day which will be appreciated by all as there are a few aches and pains! The girls will be hosted for two nights by Mercer Island players with our game against them on Saturday!
