Today was our last Lacrosse games and the girls did not disappoint! We played at the Coquitlam Stadium which is an impressive sports complex. The B Team game started at 10am and it was already quite hot. The girls started a little slowly but once they got into their stride they were off. There was some fantastic defending by our team who managed to keep the PCFLL team out of the goal area as they only managed to score 1 goal in the entire game! We went on to win 11-1 which was a great way to end what has been 4 fantastic Lacrosse games for this team.
The A Team played at midday and the heat was up to 30 degrees already! This match was going to be their hardest challenge as the PCFLL team are the state champions! After 5 minutes we were down 5-1 and a time out was called! A bit of re-organising and water the team went back onto the turf and soon pulled the score back and at half time we were comfortably winning 9-5. However some of their top players were all brought back on and soon it became 9-9. It was a tight end to the end with both teams scoring soon after the other. With minutes to go PCFLL were up 13-12! Our girls tried everything to try get a goal back but it was not meant to be and we lost 14-12. It was a fantastic game to end the Lacrosse for the tour and all girls in both teams have gained a great deal of experience.
We spent the afternoon having a picnic at Rocky Point followed by swimming and relaxing. Tonight the girls are being treated to watching a Box Lacrosse match before heading back to their hosts.
Tomorrow we meet up in the morning and will head to Capilano Suspension Bridge followed by our Hockey match against the Vancouver Hawks.
