Wednesday, 18th January will certainly be a day to remember for Moreton Hall’s followers of fashion and feminists alike with a visit by supermodel and feminist Adwoa Aboah. The Calvin Klein and H&M model who includes Cara Delevingne amongst her besties is behind an inspirational new movement ‘Gurls Talk’ which strives to create a platform where girls can openly share their experiences and feelings in a safe and trusting environment.
Adwoa commented: “We are working together to create a community of girls from all different backgrounds, looking beyond external differences, and focusing on the essence of what it means to be a girl in the 21st century. We strive to show girls that you are not alone, and that by opening up and sharing your personal stories, you too can discover that many others are going through the same things. Gurls Talk is about working together, empowering, and taking the time to listen.”
Year 11 pupil Hermione Byron Low was so inspired by Adwoa’s work that she emailed to tell her. In response, Adwoa offered to visit Moreton Hall for a Gurls Talk session with students from Yr 11 to 13. It’s the first of its kind and something Adwoa hopes to build on so ahead of an assignment in New York on Thursday, she joins us this Wednesday, 18th January.
