Tennis is an integral and important part of the Physical Education and Recreation curriculum at Moreton Hall.
We have recently launched a new tennis training programme which will run all year round and will allow children the opportunity to get involved in tennis at whatever level they are at or aspiring to become.
The Programme is split into three phases:
- Moreton Minis - children aged 5 -10 following the LTA pathway using Red, Orange Green Balls
- Moreton Majors – Girls aged 11 plus for Recreation/Social
- Moreton Masters – Girls aged 11 plus aimed at Team players and upwards.
The team of LTA qualified coaches deliver a fully structured programme each week of the term and many pupils take advantage of the additional coaching, which is available to individuals, pairs and groups.
During the winter months, the tennis squads use Wrexham Indoor Tennis Centre to train on a weekly basis to further develop the girls' tennis and enhance their training programme.
To further complement the coaching and squad programme, Moreton runs a comprehensive competitive schedule taking part in many fixtures including the LTA Team tennis, The Independent School Tennis Championships at Eton and also other LTA competitions with the aim being to expose the players to all different kind of tennis environments throughout the year.
