This is the first year that this national cricket competition has been held. Moreton was placed in its first pool with Sir John Talbot School and Thomas Telford School. In the first match against SJT the girls were made to work hard as the game came down to the final over where they needed to get one run to win. After losing a wicket the run was scored and Moreton won the game!
The second match was hosted by Moreton and took off when Millie Home and Camilla Smith came into bat. Camilla played the perfect support role to Millie who batted her way to 61 runs not out. Moreton ended their innings on 120/5. Thomas Telford came into bat and were off immediately to a good start hitting a couple of fours. However Phoebe Dickson and Millie Home were able to pin them back by taking a few wickets and reducing their run rate. Thomas Telford were unable to reach the Moreton score and finished on 97/5.
Moreton have now qualified for the knock out stages and are travelling to Wakefield Grammar School on Wednesday 11 June to play in the next round.
