Georgina Blake, Margaret Pound, Erin Leatherbarrow and Isabella James, all L5, write about their DofE trip:
Twenty one girls, seven staff and one dog navigated their way around forest land near to Betws-y-coed for our first DofE walk this year. There was a good selection of new walking gear on display, including boots, multi-coloured socks, some very bright waterproofs and the most spectacular array of woolly hats that we have ever seen.
During the walk we saw some amazing sites including views of Snowdonia, forest trails, fairies, dragons and lots of sheep (yes seriously). Not many injuries were sustained during the walk but fortunately there were a few minor blisters which allowed Mr Lang to use his super huge, brand new first aid kit which he had bought just for the occasion.
We all had a really good time. Lots of fun, aided by marching along to Les Mis and other assorted tunes. We can’t wait until the next time we are out and next time we can camp overnight.
