Moreton Hall's budding business women are continuing the school's tradition of business enterprise by striking a deal with an Ellesmere business.
The Year 12 girls in Moreton Enterprises set themselves the objective at the beginning of the year to diversify the product range of their £50,000 retail businesses. After conducting market research it was decided that one avenue was to stock a range of cakes.
Keen to support local businesses, Moreton Enterprises' Director, R.M., approached Angie Roberts of ‘Jellybean' in Ellesmere. Angie has run the Jellybean shop for two years and now also delivers a weekly order of cupcakes and chocolate brownies to Moreton. R.M. (17) explains: ‘The initiative has been a great success. They have literally been selling like hot cakes! Sales in our Boost Bar are up 50% on last year, that's a lot of cupcakes! Plans are now afoot to extend the range further to include chocolate tiffins and we are including the cakes in our new ‘Birthday Basket' range."
