Moreton’s increasingly popular Bronwen Society and Lecture Series have had another busy term. A veritable bevy of speakers have galloped us through a gamut of themes: from plate Tectonics to Bluestockings and the first women in British Universities, from Afghanistan to fat bottomed girls and the ideals of beauty in Renaissance Art.
Our programme of speakers has been supplemented with a wealth of cultural opportunities: The RSC’s thrilling ‘Julius Caesar’ set in modern day Africa, Restoration comedy at The Royal Exchange Theatre with the ‘The Country Wife’ and The Turner, Monet and Twombley Exhibition at Tate Liverpool.
Next term we look forward to Verdi, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Buddhism and Etruscan archaeology – something we hope for everybody. Look out for the flyers in the post and email and do join us.
